Lab + Logistics Building
I led the programming and schematic design effort for the laboratory portion of the Bispebjerg New Hospital and New Psychiatry Laboratory and Logistics Building in Copenhagen, Denmark. The program comprises approximately 11,000 gross square meters. The clinical and research laboratories comprise about 5,000 square meters, with the remaining 6,000 square meters comprising logistics functions to support the daily operation of the new somatic hospital which is to be located adjacent to this facility. The project seeks to create a research environment that will facilitate the integration of research with clinical practice resulting in higher quality and more effectiveness in treatment. The facility also seeks to encourage interaction among clinicians, researchers and staff by placing collaboration and touch down work spaces outside of the labs, providing a variety of spaces to relax and interact with colleagues outside of the laboratory environment. The project completed construction in 2018.
